Wireless Internet forum: how to delete wireless network created with xp wizard?

and disable it or delete it

For Q#2 - don't share anything on your laptop/pc and make it 'private'

I want to delete the second option of existing wep network in wireless network wizard. I cannot remove it. I have windows xp, sp2 and madeup this connection in 2005. But now I want to do a new network and not have the old network come up in THE WIRELESS WIZARD.

When I go to network connections, the ''name'' network I made up with the Wireless Network setup Wizard isn't shown, but if I go to the Wireless Network setup Wizard, under the select task it has the option to add new computers or devices to the ''name'' network I had made up. Does anyone know where the ''name'' is stored in a file or registry entry so it could be deleted?

> You cannot delete a workgroup, you can only change the workgroup you are in. Right click on My Computer, click the Computer Name tab, click on 'To rename....' change button, type the name of the workgroup you want to be in, under the the workgroup radio button. Enjoy

I just had the same issue, and I see this is from 2005! Still can't find a solution, so I did this and my network doesn't show up on any of the lists, may not be right though. I created a new one call " ", just two spaces. Went through manual setup, gave it no perameters and said finish. Now if I reopen the wizard it just want to add stuff to the " " network, may other one is not there, or I can create a new one.

Goto Start - Control Panel - Network Connections
Double-click the "Wireless" connection
On the left, click on "Change the order of preferred networks"
Find the name of your wireless connection under "Preferred Networks" - highlight and click "Remove"
