Current Network Setup
- Netgear Wireless G router (WGR614v9)
- Netgear Rangemax Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter WPN111
- Connecting to network: Desktop computer, laptop computer, Roku, Dish satellite DVR, Printer, iPad
- ISP - Time Warner Cable Turbo (supposed to be 15 kbps - but speed test shows 2628 kbps)
My internet connection is extremely slow, and drops out several times throughout the day - but only on my desktop computer. All other devices work fine. Not sure if my problem is the wireless adapter, the router, or both. Several times throughout the day I have to physically unplug the wireless adapter and plug back in. 75% of the time it can't even pick up my router's connection without multiple attempts and a lot of time waiting.
I was considering upgrading my equipment anyway and was looking at the ASUS AC router with 5ghz and possible an ethernet bridge to connect to my desktop.
Any thoughts on if this would fix my problem and recommendations?
Thanks so much for all of your help!!
