Windows 7 connectivity issues

Running a wireless network through Time-Warner. My issue is that my wireless connection remains relatively stable for up to two hours and suddenly, my adapter gets killed by Windows 7 or something running in Windows 7. I say this because the second I shutdown or restart, the adapter comes back on and seems to function perfectly. And as soon as I reboot, I'm fine for another hour or two. Any known issues with Windows 7 or any viruses that might interfere with connectivity?

Could be too many things.

Given only this much of a clue you can only look for the usual pests, the clock is wrong, the antivirus is shutting down (Norton/Kap does that) and cures are unlikely at this point unless we reload the PC.

It can still be a hardware issue so I may scan the PC with Grif's help (link to follow) and I may deploy a wifi client to be used instead of the onboard wifi
