Wireless Internet forum: Wifi Connection Problems...Please Help!

Ok so I have a Samsung laptop that I just bought this summer. My wireless internet worked perfectly this summer, but I started having problems once I went to college. I had a lot of problems connecting to the wifi on campus at first. I had to constantly troubleshoot my wifi connection, and I eventually realized that resetting my wireless network adapter temporarily solved the problem, so I was doing that about once a day.
Then I went home for Christmas break. My laptop would not connect to any wifi, or even recognize avalible wireless networks. I tried connecting it to multiple wifi sources, but it wouldn't connect to any of them. I heard that when you run out of an antivirus trial, the software will block your internet until you buy the full version. I had recently ran out of my free trial, so I installed a new, full version of antivirus software, but that didn't make any difference.
Then when I went back to school, my laptop connected to the wifi on campus, but it was a spotty connection. Resetting my wireless network adaptor no longer solved the problem. I saw no pattern in when it would connect and when it wouldn't. It just seemed like whenever my computer felt like it. So I went to tech support on campus, and it turns out that I had to sign into the campus wifi using my student id. I think I also had to download something, but I don't remember what. The tech girl who helped me said this should solve all my campus wifi connection problems. It made my connection better, but pretty much just returned my internet to how it was first semester. I am constantly resetting my wireless network adapter in order to connect to the internet. Plus, I still can't connect to wifi off campus.
I know that this is all really weird and it makes no sense, but please help me out. I am afraid that it is a virus or something worse. I want to fix this as soon as possible!
