Lenovo Ideapad s10 - 3c wireless problem

I have got a really weird problem in my Lenovo Ideapad - S10-3c. Please can someone here help me out. Problem is my wireless connection goes on and off at random intervals. Initially it connects, and I can surf the internet. At any random time it goes off. (System gives a red cross with the message: Not Connected - Connections are available.) After sometime it becomes normal again and reconnects by itself. My friends use the same wireless network and they dont experience any such problems - so the router is working properly.
The interesting things are these, during down-time:
1. When I use the troubleshooter for internet connection, the report says:
A network cable is not properly plugged in or may be broken. ----- Detected (!)
Plug an Ethernet cable into this computer ----- Not run
Problem with wireless adapter or access point. ----- Fixed
Reset the wireless adapter ----- Completed
Investigate router or access point issues ----- Not run
Refer to Windows Help and Support for more information about wireless connectivity problems ----- Not run
I don't understand why something needs to be plugged in for a wireless connection? Is it a hardware issue?
2. When I go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections:
It shows me two wireless connections,
Wireless Network Connection 1 - Not Connected - 802.11n Wireless Network Card
Wireless Network Connection 2 - Not connected - Microsoft Virtual Miniport Adapter
I tried disabling the second wireless connection but the problem persists.. please help me out!!
