Got a new laptop, wireless internet keeps dropping.

So I got an ASUS N56 yesterday. When I turned it on to use it today, the wireless internet lost connection and I would have to disconnect/reconnect to get the internet back. My friend is sitting next to me and his laptop is completely fine.
This happened about 8 times within a time span of 9 hours. It happens more frequently if I'm constantly online or playing a game, but I was studying for about 5 hours and it only dropped me once.
Any ideas on how to fix this? I really hope its not a defective laptop. That would be such a pain.

Here are the specs:

ASUS N56DP-DH11 AMD Quad-Core A10-4600M (2.30GHz) Processor, 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Memory, 1TB Hard Drive, AMD Radeon HD 7730 2GB GDDR3 Graphics Card, Microsoft Windows 8 64 Bit

Please please please give me some insight. I searched high and low for a new laptop and this is breaking my heart. Thanks for reading!

It was my router. Turns out that make drops on iPads and some laptops with the current firmware. My laptop was fine all along.

Can you please in the future supply the other details about the system?
