Why is my internet slower than everyone else's?

Hi, my internet speed is a lot slower than my dad's laptop and both of our smart phones. My computer is pretty much brand new (less than a year old). I did a test on speedtest.net (I exited from pretty much all of the programs taking up bandwidth) and it was megabits slower than my dad's laptop or my Droid RAZR HD. It was at least four megabits slower and the speed test was really different each time. I'm wondering if there's actually something wrong with my laptop or if there's a software conflict or something else. I would really appreciate any input. Thanks for reading...

I can't guess why. My last new laptop was slower and I looked at the maker's web page and they had issued a new driver. But this does not mean that's your issue.

I'd like to ask how you get support today. Does your support work with such detail as in this post?
