Good day

I'm running Windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite C660-182. In the taskbar it says I am connected to wifi even though I cannot open any pages. Not with Chrome, Firefox, Opera, IE and various other browsers. None of the applications that require an internet connection are working. Sometimes I can get a page, say a wiki article to load the text and some of the media but alas not all of it. ipconfig tells me "media disconnected"... everything that can be disabled is disabled. Also, the problem persists using a cable and plugging it in I haven't tempered with any settings yet and've done an extensive search for a solution of the problem on Google. I really need to get it back to work. Please help? ='D

Just for drill, what are you using for security software? It could be something as simple as a firewall blocking you. Also, I would look at internet options, control panel, and see what your homepage is showing. A couple of simple things to check. Maybe a little more information would help.

- What changed since it last worked?
- Does it say "media disconnected" also if you use that wired Ethernet connection?
- Can you enter your routers management page from your browser (wired)?
- Can you ping your router (wired and wireless)
- What does ipconfig say about the DNS and gateway (wired and wireless are different)?

Homepage is simply Google, no firewall or antivirus software (an unactivated McAfee program does that count?) haven't changed anythin since it last worked (it has worked just fine for over a year up until now). Media disconnected is still there when I use the Ethernet connection, cant enter anythin from the browser. Dont know what you mean by DNS and gateway Kees.
. cant find that in the cmd log.

My guess is that the issues are related to lack of security software and that you have just been lucky to sidestep malware infection issues for this long.

Those are mentioned in the ipconfig /all output. Since you mention that program I supposed you would be able to find it.
