Hello,
I have road runner wifi problems at my house and wondered if you have run across this yet. Both my wife and I can not connect to the 40mps RR wifi lan at speeds faster than 17 mps which drops the further you get from base. They came out and there tech tried there laptop and they were at 17mps also, hard-wired we get 39.5mps even the RR guy was stumped. I am 10 feet from the power meter outside the house which sends a consumption report on wifi to the power company. I have an ongoing rapport with RR and they have tried everything with settings. Can you tell me the max speed if there is one for the lan pcie listed?

All the stuff in my office is plugged in
battery backup, transformers, 2.4ghz phone, desktop, speakers w/ amp,
win7 toshiba
realtek rtl8187se wireless lan pcie network adapter

Sorry but is that some cordless phone? We had to ban 2.4ghz phones from our home.

with the same problem you describe. My wired speed was great but my wireless G laptops (3) were painfully slow. Go here http://www.broadbandreports.com/tools Run in this order:

Speed test
Tweak test
Dr. TCP

When you run Dr. TCP make sure the wireless adapter is listed. Reboot and run your speed test.
