Rural internet solutions help please!

by kid1225 - 2/17/12 9:08 PM

I live in the little lnown town of topaz ca populaton 101. We dont have any cable dsl companies that offer internet and perviously we did not have any cell companys that offered any services whats o ever. Verizon just began offering cell and data services so i decided to sweitch from hughes net wich sucked was super slow super expensive and has ridic data caps. I got the Verizon Samsung 4g lte hotspot to use for all of my internet purposes, Desktop ipod, wii. I initally signed up for the 5 g plan at 50 buckes a month but not even two weeks into my new activation i had surpassed my alloted data usage. I upd my plan to 10g for 80 bucks a month and now three weeks in iv hit my max again. I dont watch a million videos but i do stream alot of music shop surf reaserach online. I am a student and my school is 100% online. Plus i dont have television service so i might watch a tv episode or movie once or twice a week. Verizon does not have any plans with more data usage and it is getting expensive. I thought i would be saving money switching but that is not the case. Im not complaining about the speed. it is great most of the time. I run off the 3g network because there is no 4g in my area and i think my computer goes off the wifi connect because that light is always blue blinking and the 3g light is always green or yellow not blinking. I does kick me off sometimes and that can get annoying but it only does that with my computer not my ipod? Since recieving the news of my data overage today iv been researching alternatives so i can possibly cancel my service before my 90 day cap. I considered getting a cell phone hotspot with verizon instead of the hotspot device because you can get up to 20g of data a month but that gets ridicuosly expensive then i found that sprint has limited coverage here and they have an unlimited data plan with there cell service and phones that can be a hotspot. Im looking at the MOTOROLA PHOTON 4G. their individual plan is 69.99 plus the 10 dollar data charge and then 30 dollar hotspot charge soid be paying 110.00 ut i would have a cell to and that would be nice. However when I look at their coverage map im in the light green area wich i think might be roaming and like literally right past my house it shows no coverage. can anyone tell me how reliable the mobile hotspots are particuarly sprint and how reliable sprint service is?
i dont really want to have to pay 110.00 + a month for service so if anyone knows of any cheaper alternatives that would also be great. And no i can not access wifi except through my hot spot i already tried. My coputer has a built in wireless lan its a hp pavilion elite m9500y and it wont pick up anyother signal but my hotpots. Id still like to be able to get the internet on my ipod touch as well its one of the few things i have to entertain myself with here. I cant do dial up because it sucks and trying to do my schoolwork and research would never work. Im sorry this is so lengthy and i hope not to confusing. I just wanted to get all the info on here so i can get the best solution possible. if it exsists. I thank anyone who takes the time to read this and respond in advance any and all help is very much appreciated!
