How can I tell if someone is or has been accessing Wireless

1 - I live next door to a large Credit Union and it seems like during the week my wife and I get knocked off of our wireless more than we do on the weekends when the Credit Union is closed... I am pretty sure I am secured but would like to see if anyone is or has been accessing our wireless... how can I do that?

2 - Also it takes a while for us to get on to our network sometimes and we get knocked off frequently.. if no one is accessing our account to cause this ...what could it be??

3 - OK, here is some irony... i got knocked off while posting this sad

What sort of network & hardware are you running? If it's a typical home wireless router using the 2.4GHz frequency band, it's possible you are running into interference affecting the access point (wireless router). Other networks/microwave radiation/cordless phones using the same frequency can affect wireless performance. Who knows what sort of crap the credit union is using that could affect your network if it's close enough.

In any case, if you have a strong password protected network there shouldn't be anyone else on it, hypothetically.

Out of curiosity, if you connect via ethernet (wired) do you ever lose your network connection?

Very good point... In addition to being next to the CU.... I also live almost directly under a huge microwave tower...Crap... that could be it!!!

It's uncommon for the consumer grade routers to keep a log. But it's very common they have the option to see the current connection in the router management page that you can access in the browser (just as when you set the password). So have a look there.

You probably need a wired connection to go that page. But that has the definite advantage you won't be knocked off.

There might be some interference between their WiFi and your WiFi. Changing the channel might help.
