Wireless Internet forum: Connecting Wii to Verizon wireless broadband ?

The Wii has USB ports. my laptop does have an ethernet port. I bought the Wii LAN adapter which plugs directly into the wii in a USB port. You then attach an ethernet cable from the adapter to the modem or router you use. I have neither, so I plugged it into the laptop. Am not able to get a connection.


Oh, and I would get REAL cable or FIOS if I lived in an area that supported such coverage!! And, the Geek Squad at Best Buy informed me that there is no way to use the VERIZON NIC on a router.

basically you enable ICS and add a router into the mix - this makes your computer the broadcasting source instead of VZW.

So you get the signal from verizon into your computer, ICS allows you to share that signal through a wireless router and transmit it to your Wii.

You will most likely find that even if you are a short distance away from your wireless signals base you will still get all kinds of lag during online gaming.

the connection will be adequate for browsing the wii marketplace etc but gaming will slow down for sure.

I was told by he tech who installed my wireless modem that I could connect to games and IPODs with it but I don't know how to do it. Can you help?
