what is the best wireless router for someone with a mac/pc

hi,

i have botht mac and pc computers. My wireless router is out of date and dose not work very well.(out of my 4 floors in my house i can only a laptop on one) The speed is horrible and it keeps losing the signal, and connecting to a neighbours unsecured network(very anoying!!), so i was wondering if someone could tell me what is the best router for mac+pc, within the price range of $100 and $200.
Right now my favourites are the apple airport extreme, and the belkin n+. When it comes to computers this is not my field of experties!

As you may have already realised there are differences in the way that Apple describes networking issues such as encryption. If you are using Windows Vista, the descriptions there are more in line with Apple's approach -- but most network manufacturers stick with terminology that would be more familiar to Windows XP users.

If you can swallow the price difference, the Airport may be a good choice to keep things simple.

Belkin does not have the best reputation for its routers, though check reviews as that may no longer be justified -- personally I'd also look at brands like Netgear, Linksys, Dlink.
