Two Internet Connections at the same time

I have a DSL 6MB ethernet connection that I use for my "home" connection on my laptop. I have a USB wireless internet device from Alltel that I use on my laptop at "work". What I was wondering, can these two connections be used at the same time. for example the DSL connection runs bit-torrent stuff, and use the USB device for web-surfing (either firefox or IE). When I connect the USB device, it connects for about 5 - 10 seconds and then automatically disconnects with no reason in the log file, even if I start with the USB device, and then plug in the ethernet, the USB device will automatically disconnect. any ideas or is it just not possible to run 2 different internet connections at the same time .. using Windows XP as my OS.

Yes - two wireless N connections at once!

I have a wireless N connection sent across the street from my neighbor. I just had Comcast put in a cable internet connection to my house. I put a D-Link wireless N router on the Comcast modem and get a good signal anywhere in the house. I then went to my internet connection screen on my computer and connected to BOTH my neighbor's and my house wi-fi at the same time. I do a lot of music streaming from Rhapsody - hours long playlists - before on one signal I had interruptions when I went to another web site while Rhapsody was streaming. Now with both internet connections going together, I have great speed and no pauses. My computer is a new HP All-In-One running Windows 7. I had to use a wireless addapter on 45-ft of powered USB cable with a dish on the addaptor to get the neighbor's signal before. Now I can disconnect this and still get a good signal from there. Can my Wireless N router be boosting this signal as well as sending the Comcast signal? I don't understand it all, but I'm sure happy with it !
