No access

I have linksys networking program. Dell desktop, IMB laptop running XP. I've tried to hook up my networking system but when I try to acquire files from one computere to the other, it tells me I that I have no access and to contact my administrator. Tha's me, right? Could someone please explain this to me.

Do you have a firewall?

I have a firewall which I turned off during the operation and yes, I turned on print and file sharing.

the Network Setup Wizard on both machines? Make sure the network name is the same.

The most common issue is you don't have an account.

On the machine you are connecting to.

And NO, you can't use administrator.

-> To save yourself having to learn all about Microsoft networking, install and use Network Magic. Even the demo version gets this working.
