Using my laptop (with built in wireless) as wireless router

Hello all.
I am having trouble coming up with a solution. Maybe I'm making it too complicated for myself? Anyway, here's the problem.
I have a DSL connection... hooked to a D-Link wired router. From this router I have an Xbox 360, and my laptop connected.
What I want to do is share my wired LAN connection, through my built in Wireless LAN on my laptop. This [the laptop] will serve as a router for a second desktop I have with a wireless PCI card installed on it. How can i do this? I have tried everything to no avail. I know it has something Im not doing right with the Internet connection sharing (ICS), but Im not sure. Any suggestions?
In the past, i have shared my wi-fi connection on my laptop though the LAN to access xbox live on my 360. Obviously it can work the other way cant it?
