Page freezes (s.ytimg.com)

Calling on veteran techs advice. Didnt know if this is the right forumn, but Ive a web problem. Am using Firefox, latest version. Today, on both my gmail and youtube pages, Ive had page freezes that last 5 min or more, cant take down pages. Finally had to restart, just to clear page.
With each freeze, I get a dialogue in left bottom corner, that say " searching for s.ytimg.com". Is there a spybot or malware responsible for this ? And if so, how do I clear it. Playing havoc with my gmail page.
Running Windows 7 on a Gateway , 64 bit. Any feedback you can give me is appreciated.
