Weirdest Dial-Up problem I've ever had.

I've had dial-up ever since its been out [Or since I've been born - Sad really ]

But I've gotten this new problem which is killing my speed.

The thing is, there are no programs up using my speed. I've checked and even used cmd's Netstat -p command.

My connection speed is 26.4kbps so doing anything online runs at 2.3kbps [on a good day]

Upon connecting, my link speed in task manager says 56kb. Soon after making it do anything it jumps up to 133kbps.

This is impossible to do with Dial-up.

Soon my speed of 2.3 plummets to 0.3

This only started happening after my install of Window 7 Ultimate.

Does anyone have any idea of how to fix or find out how to fix this?

Sounds proper. Why? There's a lot more to installing Windows than folk expected. Get with the machine's maker to find out what else is required.

dial up help on windows 7

Dial up is slowest mode of internet.
Windows 7 has many inbuilt background connections(shadow tcip services running everytime)
Comodo free firewall. Close all unwanted connections to the internet.
Task manager >> services >>close unwanted services running in background
Anti virus program >>select manual update.
Set windows update to 'Check for update but install manually". (same for antivirus program)
Also full root level scan on computer to check for multiple malware detections. Avast, Malwarebytes, Spyware terminator free, Winpetrol (cookie checker)

Compress internet. Use k-meleon browser(good options to disable images, flash, animations etc), or opera with turbo(latest)
Fastun.com proxy (free but registration required) compresses non https connections. images,animations, etc.

Source: myself using a 3G limited connection very satisfactorily in India.
