USB external dial-up modem for Snow Leopard ???

Just bought a new iMac (Intel Dual Core 2 processor) with Snow Leopard.
However, I only have access to dial-up internet.
Unable to find a UBS external modem for dial-up that claims to work with Snow Leopard. It seems that Apple no longer supplies USB dial-up modems for any of its computers.
Any insights appreciated for this very unexpected hardware problem.

The Apple article you cite is almost three years old. I have read the complaints of many unhappy Apple USB external modem buyers who concluded that it does not work with any Intel processors. Which would explain why it is no longer manufactured.

The article does state "or later" and the last person I know on dial has the latest OS and the USB apple modem.

1. You can find that modem being sold today.

Yes there are folk that must buy new gear only.

2. There are OTHER solutions.

Yes there are folk that won't accept these other solutions.

3. Example other solutions.
a. USB to serial port. Connect serial port modem to this.
b. The wifi dialup modem server. Could be too hard for most to configure but I setup such on LANs years ago. Quite the solution in the 1990s.

Don't give up so easy.

there is a USB modem by zoom technologies that works with almost anything. I got mine from staples, it claims to support all mac editions, but I've only tried it on xp, vista, and Ubuntu 9.04

I've been using the USB modem for 2 yrs and never had a problem - on my intel Mac. Only migrated to broadband 6 months ago.
