Web pages load slowly

What could be wrong with my Internet explorer? Lately, web pages take long time to load even though my modem connects at the highest connection rate: 52.0 Kbps.

I am using a Toshiba Notebook with Windows XP Home Edition, Internet Explorer / Outlook Express version 6.02. It has manufacturer's 56K V.92 internal data/fax/voice modem

Can anyone assist?

Avant Browser is fast.
Firefox is both fast and more secure.
Try another and compare.

It's dial up. Of course it's slow. Unless every page is taking 2 mins to load. Then you have a problem considering that's even slow for dial-up

Temporary Internet Files folder gets full, your pages won't load properly.

to clean the excess files in IE, got to Tools-->Internet Options-->Delete Files. Then, go into the Settings and set "Check for newer versions of stored pages" to "Every visit to the page." Finally, set the "Temporary Internet files folder" setting to 10MB. Then, defrag your hard drive and you should be good to go
