I'd still say it's better than aol
I use to use a dial-up connections with aol and it use to work jsut fine, not very inpressed but still not bad. But when we jsut recieved the aol 9."something" all the time it would start disconnecting on me, I hated it so very much.
So then I switch to earthlink, I love it at the momemt it just felt like the connection and the speed went so much more faster, but again later (with no updates) had stupid problems with using earthlink. I never had problems wiht the earthlink blocker, all I have to do is click it and it deactivates for that session. And for the accelorator if you go to yoru history with it, it make is look like a humongous inprovment but really it doesnt feel like it any more. And whne I switched to classic theme wiht my windows xp home edition 2002 with service pack 2 it the history said it ran 20X FASTER!!!! But I dont think so.
The main problem I have now is that around me I had this number that work o well and it said I had a full 56k gong with my 56k modem running, but now that number iether always has me disconnected right away or it rings like a real phone for no reson. So I use the next closest town conntion and it sais it only gos like 30.6k . . . alot less improvment. So I tryed doing all I can to speed it up with programms and things.
We just recently got a brand new computer last night and it is all hooked up wiht a 22' flat screen lcd monitor with over 2gbytes of ram power and extra add ons with a windows xp media edition 2002 with service pack 2. It runs godely. I love it and now my connnection speed is better, but I beleive that is jsut because I switched from a 256megabyte ram power desktopto a 2gigabyte ram power desktop.
So I would recommend it for dial-up use only with mozilla firefox and mabey the firetune to i guess (speed up connnection) but I havnt tryed it yet.
I'm still saying it is definetly better that aol though. So go for it.
