I have no internet access -- status says network access is

Since yesterday I have had trouble connecting to the internet:
I have been having occasional problems with Comcast where my internet is slow so I tried to fix the problem by resetting my modem and also turning it off. None of these things did anything so I opened up the modem configuration by typing in 192.168.01 into a browser. I turned off some things like the firewall and turned off the wireless just to see if that would fix the problem.
Nothing really happened until I switched one setting: NAPT mode from Enabled to Disabled. After doing that, I had trouble reconnecting to the network and when I typed in 192.168.01 into a browser nothing came up. So I called Comcast and they had me reset the router, which I believe restored the router to default settings. I did that and ever since then I have not been able to connect to the internet. The NAPT mode is back to enabled now. When I go to 192.168.01 and view the status of the modem it says "Net work Access: Denied" and "Cable Modem IP Address: ---.---.---.---"
