Internet interruptions caused by Hotspot usage

I work in a facility where we offer Internet service which is provided with T1+(I think) . individuals that come into a demo area where there are multiple users are loosing signal because other individuals have their Hot Spots on which is causing interference or too many signals in one area and our system not recognizing the IPs (something to the effect)
Does this make sense to anyone? I'm trying to understand so that I can help with coming up with options for a client and help my client understand the situation.
My client is telling me we need Time Warner that cable lines and that it offers more megs but from what I read on line it's really not comparable and businesses don't use cable because it doesn't work well for large networks.
