my router shows online but there's no internet connection

I have a Motorola SBG900 Wireless SURFboard Gateway router. My pc is an HP Pavilion Slimline with a 64-bit operating system. Processor is an AMD Athlon (tm) IIX2 250 3.00 GHz. The model is an s5310y.

The router shows I'm online, but yet, there's no internet access. I'm unable to connect to the internet. I've tried unplugging the router and plugging it back in, and still, nothing happens. What do I need to do? I'm very frustrated!!

And you have checked settings in Network and sharing center? You didn't say how you set the system up nor did you mention OS that you are running, a bit more info might help.
