How to make Belkin router into AP -> connect to dlink 655

I have dlink dir655 router thats connected to my cable modem.

I received a Belkin F7D2301 as a gift. So my plan is to turn my Belkin into a repeater/access point on the other side of my house.

How do I do it? I googled, search, etc and cant seem to find the right one that works. Also I wanted to flash my Belkin with the dd-wrt flash, but cant find any information about it.


Please any information, advice, etc.. is greatly appreciated!!

I can't help as it's a bit too dangerous and folk would blame me if it failed.

As to the AP it's always the same thing. Reset the router to defaults, connect a pc to one of the lan ports, and log into the router. Set the router LAN IP to something good for your LAN, turn off the DHCP and then save that setting.

Now connect it to your LAN and plug the ethernet into the router lan ports and you're done. There is nothing specific to this router as a WAP here. You do this the same way as those other routers.

Is it possible for me to set my ap/repeater wireless instead of hardwired? Also I tired those steps and it didnt work. IP didnt work, mask didnt work. I am not sure if I am doing it wrong or whats going on.

oh ok. Yeah I wasn't sure. So I plan to get some powerlines and use them to connect and then connect my belkin to the powerline adapters.
