Broadband forum: Throttling on Roadrunner/Bright House

I hate to have to inform an employee of an ISP that he is incorrect but throttling is done on all ISPs and that is but the tip of the iceberg about to sink the titanic profit lines they now enjoy.
FYI: Throttling of bandwidth charged for and paid for by the customer is legally a denighal of service and is also theft of said service that, since paid for, becomes a criminal theft. The same can be charged for forced downloading of advertising that produces revenue at the expense of services the consumer has paid in good faith for and been refused the use of by the committing of a fraud which could also be construed as an extortion.
Corporate America may own the republican party and the Supreme Court but their house control has not yet rewritten the laws that govern all crimminal actions that are able to be persued for relief from said criminal activities.
The internet was bought and paid for by taxpayer dollars (military) and it was the Reagan administrartion that allowed the privatasation of the internet for profit and the intestate highway system conversion to tollroads by those whose constituents were to ignorant to protest.

Sorry there "expert" but not only is bandwidth throttled by ISP's but also by SEVERAL agencys of the governments of the world as we protect our borders from forien cyber threats. While you may work in some field installation of the internet you have no working or otherwise knowlege of what we do on a daily basis. I suggest you refrain from trying to make tv antennas from your tin foil as it has no affect on digital signals and analogue is used only in third world countries these days.

This and your other post is one of the most paranoid pieces I have ever seen on the internet. Honestly I keep looking back over it to see if you were just trolling or making a joke because I can not understand how someone can be functional and be this paranoid. What I do see is noted below. There is another naturally (?) occurring throttle as the pipes get full. For example if a neighborhood on cable all get home and try to use Netflix the network in that area can be saturated.

A less experienced networker might call that throttling but it's really saturation.

One poor soul thought it was throttling when it was simpler than anyone imagined. They expected the full download speed from some server across the world and blamed the ISP for the speed drops.

I wonder if ISPs must become teaching centers.

I posted to warn consumers, not to solve a problem.

A sudden speed change after changing DNS server is evidence the slowdown is coming from my ISP, not my modem or neighborhood congestion.

Suggestion: problems solved by changing the modem might be due to getting an IP address that isn't blacklisted. There may have been nothing wrong with the old modem. BHN could save money by changing the modem with DHCP rather than sending a truck out.

There is nothing to warn them about. DNS has nothing to do with your bandwidth in fact it only impacts the first few miliseconds of your surfing experience while the domain name you entered is translated into a numeric address. Beyond that DNS has nothing to do with what you are talking about. Blacklist has nothing to do with it as well. And changing your DNS will have nothing to do with a blacklisted IP address and nether will impact your speeds.

DNS response times are indeed a variable. It's also well known we can get better response times by changing.

Nothing new here. This effect is now over a decade old.

If you download such things there are systems that kick in and flood your address to tick you off and make you think twice. It's not throttling. I can only guess you don't know so here's a article about it.
