Broadband forum: CNET Bandwidth Meter Online Speed Test Results way off

I have a HP Pavilion SE a6655f, Quad Core, 500GB HD, 5GB Mem. Win. 7 Home Premium.
Although I have tried to cut the Mem usage I still come up with 3GB free at any one time. I have the second highest speed from my cable provider, Speed tests show that I have always 21MB to 25MB download speed and 700kps to 875kbs upload speed.

On several occasions my provider has upped my speed for a trial and have found no difference. Downloads of new software are fast but it still takes about a minute to load my browser IE, Am I too impatient while waiting for my browser to open?

Does the speed of my High Speed Lite have anything to do with my browser taking so long to open? Moving to different Web sites takes from 20 seconds of longer to open, sometimes it just hangs until I go back and start over again. I know that 20 seconds seems fast but try sitting there and counting the seconds and it seems a long time.

Again, am I asking too much of my computer to open my browser and loading of Web pages? Once I get to the YouTube site, YouTube videos open quickly with some sputtering, MSN videos on the other hand take time and are choppy through the whole video.

I run tests four or five times a week, though I haven't much faith they are worth a hoot. It's a cartoon, little more. There's no account for the varieties of routing, traffic loads, or server access; there's too many variables. Try talking to your isp and find out what real tech runabout is allabout.
