Syncing headaches

My wife has a MacBook running Lion, an iPad and an iPhone 4S. All devices are current with updates. My wife uses a Gmail account for email, calendar and contacts. She would like to sync her email, calendar and contacts across all three devices.

We have been to the local Apple store three times, each time meeting with a different genius and each time being told something different. We've been told we needed to use Exchange, we have been told not to use Exchange, we have been told it doesn't matter what we use. The Apple support site says that you have to decide to use either Exchange or Gmail to configure the devices and that it absolutely makes a difference.

At this point the devices are using all combinations and not working right. Can someone shed some light on this and help us to get these devices configured correctly? Any help would be appreciated.

I hear you. To explain why will not fit in this small space. What you need is some computer "coach" to help you navigate it all and get it working. It's frankly technical and can be solved in no less ways than people you talk to.

It gets worse if you opt for POP3 email as you find the email is deleted off the server if your email settings are not just so.

My mac osx is not communicating with my canon mp 495 printer. it will print under the glass, but not internally from any word document. please reply to tbar447@aol.com ANYONE!!

Delete the printer and add it back.

after making sure you unplug the USB connector, at both ends, and plug them back in again.

We would also appreciate it if you would not hijack a thread that has nothing to do with your problem, instead, create a new thread of your own.
