Hello, I got a new Mac Mini that I bought second hand through Ebay. The last owner had window installed too and he delete it. Now when I star the computer I have the message "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key". The former owner told me I have to press the alt key, but it doesn't work. Maybe because he already had the keybord installed? I went to a store and bought a mac keyboard but still steys the same. I can't do nothing to star the system. can somedoy help? Thank a lot

Seems there either is no hard disk present, or the hard disk doesn't have an OS on it.

In the first case you need to install a hard disk first, then the OS. In the second case, you only need to install the OS. Since we can't look inside it or boot it from any bootable disk, that's all we can say at the moment.

first try to boot the Mac Mini with either the Discs that came with it or a retail copy of OS X.

It's my guess that the previous own messed up the ability to boot from the internal by deleting Windows without following the instructions.

I suspect the HD is fine, it just has screwed up sectors and needs to be formatted and have an OS installed on it
