You should be able to correct this using TIme Machine

the Autocorrect file is located at; Username/library/preferences/Microsoft/Microsoft Office ACL

Go there and locate the file.

Once located, do nothing with it. Launch Time Machine and go back to the time when you know the file was correct.
You will note that the window you are looking at in TIme Machine is the same window as the one you were looking at before you launched TM.
Once you are back to a time that you know is good, click on the file in the TM window.
Now hit Restore in the bottom right hand corner.
The good file will now replace the bad file and once you quit from TM you should be good to go

I actually did "restore" on the overall Word file itself. I was surprised to see that after the restore it still showed version 14.2.1. But hey, as long as I can resume my work....(Now how can I get back the lost time and unexperience the distress?) Thank you for your help.
