error with excel for mac but no problem in windows

HI

I've got a workbook with following that I've changed the path, could someone please see if anything wrong with this path:

thefile = Application.GetSaveAsFilename("/Users/chunkin_home/buy sell scan/ASXListedCompanies.xls", "Workbook(*.xls),*xls",,"Where is the list of stock in the ASX")

basically it brings up a dialog box and ask for me to choose where the location of the file ASXListedCompanies.xls is

I've amended it from previously with windows where the path would be c:/windows/...etc

any idea would be great

Such a path looks non-portable and should fail for too many reasons. Try simpler.

Think - SERVER!!

Maybe put the file on a server? You wouldn't have a problem on either side then.
AND, yes, you can protect the file or parts of the worksheets.
