A few questions about mac mail

I use yahoo for mail and every couple of months it gives me fits. I'm going through one of those periods now.

In the advanced tab where you select the port and authentication, is that the setting for the incoming or outgoing? Yahoo requires 995 for incoming and 465 for outgoing.

The problem I'm having is i can either send or receive but not both depending on the port setting and i can not find any other places to set the port. in other words why doesn't mail have a place to set both incoming and outgoing port settings?

Took some finding, but here it is.

Open Mail Preferences, Accounts tab.

Click on the Yahoo mail account, in the left hand pane.

In the right hand pane, where it says, Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), click on the drop down list. (just above Use only this server)
From the drop down list, choose Edit SMTP Server List
Click Advanced

Now you can put in the port number in Custom Port. This is for the Outgoing port, 465 in this case.
Click OK and back out of the page.
Close preferences, saving as you do so.
Send/Receive your mail

but now I have to figure out why it would change on it's own. Maybe my mac thinks it's a PC.
