General Mac software discussions forum: suddenly safari Mail Link to this Page won't open gmail

It happens when I am on a page I want to send a link to. I am not on gmail. Until yesterday I could click the Mail Link to this Page under safari file drop down menu and safari would open a compose window in gmail with the link in the body of the message. Suddenly I get a page that begins to look like it's loading then everything disappears and I get a blank page.

Below is the url safari gave when I clicked Mail Link to this Page. It is incredibly long so I think the script is scrambled and I don't know how to fix it. I tried gmail help which was no good - nada.

I hate having to copy the url and then open a gmail and paste it in when I've been used to the one click.

It works just fine in Firefox but I find the new updates in Firefox make my laptop run incredibly hot.

This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.

The site you provide should not open gmail. I would just type in the address window www.gmail.com, input username and password, and save it as a new bookmark, to replace the old one. Then open it from the bookmark bar, click OK (it is supposed to remember the password) and you should get to the gmail. I noticed a week ago that gmail lost my password; it does not happen on other sites. It could be that Google changed something and did not tell us.
