Format Factory

Format Factory used to be my favorite video converter and the ONLY one I used. It was just perfect, like most of the reviews say. But then my laptop somehow reset itself after I shut it down and turned it on the next day, and all of my data was gone.

When I installed Format Factory again(a newer version, 2.70) it just wasn't the same. It messed up my codec setup(which I installed the same way prior to the computer's reset), and whenever I try to convert something, it doesn't work. It stays at 0% for a long time, and then somewhere between 20 seconds and 1 minute from the start of the conversion, it suddenly goes to 100%, and the converted video does not work. I even tried installing the earlier version(2.60) that worked perfectly, and now I am encountering the same problem.

Has anybody else experienced this problem? Or is it just me? Is it a problem with my laptop?

Any help will be appreciated.

For years I've used Handbrake and Virtual Dub. Why should I change?

But you may want to look into using a different converter if this one is no longer working for you.

I did try many different converters, but none of them had the subtitles come out the way I wanted...

I fixed my problem though. I uninstalled the codec pack that I had installed, and then I re-installed it. Everything works fine with my Format Factory now.
