I am a new user trying to build a Render Farm. I am using Squidnet, but my problem may be hardware not software related...I don't know. I have 15 computers for a total of 25 cores. I'm using 2 routers (1 DHCP) and 2 Ethernet switches to connect them. I'm using Lightwave 10.1 as the render software. My computers are a varied mix of single-core, dual-core, 1 quad-core and both Intel and AMD mobo's. My problem is that when I begin rendering some of the computers drop their frames. 2 of the computers, which are active, do not complete frames. While others inconsistently drop frames but then render the rest of them.I've tried reloading the software. All of my paths are correct.
Ralph, Squidnet's developer, has looked at my config and he sees no problem from Squidnet's end of it.
Is there a BIOS setting I'm missing? Is there a minimum amount of RAM I need to be using per machine (the ones with least amount of RAM seem to be the most problematic at only 1Gb).
Any insight would be very appreciated.
