Ripping music from DVD

I have a DVD that was transferred from a VHS tape. It only has one "chapter" and no menu of tracks or anything.

The VHS tape was a public performance of a musical I was in and I really would like an audio only CD of the music.

Can this be done? What program should I use?

Audacity.

Audacity (found with google) could capture the audio as it played to either wav or MP3. No tutorial from me but widely written about. Free too.

You need a music extrator like iSkysoft DVD Audio Ripper

HandBrake

you may just get the freeware called "HandBrake". It works with Windows and Mac and does well in rip DVD to MP3.Hope it helps! If you need, Following is a step by step guide:

I've had pretty good luck with the trial version of DVD Ripper Ultimate. it does extract audio from a DVD quite well.
