Windows Media Player 11 and AIM - Won't open at all

I've been using both programs now for a while and ever since 3/3/09, I haven't been able to open either of those programs. The only thing that happens is when I click on the shortcut to open them, I get the blue circle for a split second, it goes away, and nothing happens.

I've tried re-installing both programs, nothing. I've tried a system restore to a date that they were working on, nothing. I don't know much about this so please help!

System: Vista 64bit

i had the same problem as you, and this link helped. just go to this link,scroll down to fix the problem,click on it, and run or download the fix it installer for wmplayer. the problem your having is due to bad or blank ui components.
