How to make video from laptop show full screen on HDTV

I currenlt have a Panasonic Th-42px6u that has a resolution of 1366x768. That is not a standard resolution format, at least I have never seen that before. I wanted to connect my Dell Inspiron 1520 with an nVidia 8600m GT card through s-vdeio. After connecting it to my HDTV, I noticed that there is always a black border around the display. I can never get the image from my laptop to cover up the whole screen. I think that has to do with the fact that my laptop does not have a 1366x768 resolution option.
What can I do so that the screen appears fullscreen? I have tried messing around with the aspect ratio of the tv, and set it to "full" and "just" so that it would show everything but none of those worked. It still showed the black border around the image.
Do I have any other option or would I have to live with having that black border?
