recommend basic video editor software

Hi All,

I have an XP SP2 laptop with 1.25 gig ram. I'd like to do some very simple video editing. Basically I just want to remove some sections from the video (just fade outs and fade ins). Don't really need to do anything beyond that. I'll be starting with some FLV files, but I can convert them as needed.

Any recommendations for free or low cost video editor software?

I can remove those fade outs, ins and more with free software such as Virtual Dub. It's a fast tool for snip snip work.
