Microsofts Severely Lacking Basic Instructions
Dear MS Windows Movie Maker Experts and Technicians:
I am always put off when I go to the Online info written by Microsoft Windows. They tell you everything in the world with the exception that for some reason they seem to forget the very rudimentary basics- even when you try to search say "Edit audio" or "cut portions of a narrative speech" in the Movie Maker program, the search results come up with nothing. I suppose they assume that everyone os already taking an audio clip, say popular pre-recorded music or beginning with a new recording every time they create a video? What if you have a ten year old narrative recording and you want to clean it up, or remove portions of it? With all the tools apparently on the story board time-line, you'd think they'd tell you how to simply apply the tool that says, is like deleting a portion of words in a Word-file or a say a high-lited area in a photo in Photoshop. I'm sure that this is how the timeline in MS Windows Movie Maker works but the intructions to find this seems non-existent. Isn't technology wonderful?
I did just find for the first time the option to insert a new narrative preceeding my old narrative and that is well written by MS, but how to cut portions of the old audio file I just uploaded to the Time-line? Where is the directions for that tool? I"ll probably find it here in these online forums before I receive a replied answer...
Thank you for any info, and I'll look forward to returning here soon to find your kind answers, (I am using a new Toshiba L555D Laptop with Windows Vista and have ust downloaded the newer Movie Maker 2.6 for Windows 7(not Movie Maker Live.)
