Video capture with ATI all in wonder card

Hi All- I have a emachines 3256 with an ATI all in wonder video card. My operating system is windows XP home-upgraded with service pack 2.

I would like to capture to disk a video clip that is on a network news email site and use this clip as part of a marketing piece. I have to following questions:

1. How do I accomplish this? I have been unable to find the info in the ATI documentation that I have.

2.Do I need permission to capture what is on a public domain? If so, who's permission?

It (the ATI) has little to do with that.

Instead you want something like I use.

1. CAMTASIA 2.0
2. AUDACITY (for the audio portion.)

I use VIRTUAL DUB to edit and merge the Audio Video back together.

Please remember that the items I noted in all capital letters are found with Google.com and I offer zero duplication of web content on how to use said software.

Taking the video off a news web site for use in marketing

could be VERY expensive. It sounds like a flat out copyright violation. I don't think availability on a web site puts it in the public domain unless the owner says it is in public domain. You should probably ask for permission. If it is public domain, they will tell you that.
