Outlook Express or other form of outlook

Thank you R. Proffitt. As I mentioned above Outlook Express or other form of email program; i.e. a new version maybe??? I'm not an expert on this subject by any stretch of the imagination. I guess what is being used today is just "Outlook". I stand corrected and educated. Unfortunately there are those of us who have been unemployed and aren't able to upgrade to the newest and up to date technology. I have to do the best with what I have at the time. However, Outlook is different than say Yahoo or hotmail. At least from I've seen.

- MS Outlook is a program, just like Outlook Express or Thunderbird.
- Hotmail.com and yahoo.com and gmail.com are websites.
That's not the same: a program isn't a website.

But you can use MS Outlook to access your hotmail account.

Thank you for once again for educating me on something of which I showed ignorance. I think it would be best if I just take all of this information and file it away somewhere for future reference. Maybe that's why I didn't get called for an interview on some of the jobs for which I applied. I unknowingly showed them my ignorance. I should have consulted this website before I stuck my foot in my mouth.

Hi,

If you are using Windows XP on the computer, you can refer to this article for configuring Outlook Express.
1. You can refer to this link for specific settings for sbcglobal.net.
2. Click 'personalize your support' mentioned in 'There are multiple versions of this article. To see other versions, personalize your support' and this prompt appears: Image
3. Select the Email Program, Operating System and click Continue. Follow the instructions mentioned below.

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, Outlook express has been replaced with Windows Live Mail. You can either use it or use Microsoft Outlook 2010.
If so, you need to select the Microsoft Outlook and OS on the link for specific settings for sbcglobal.net and follow the instructions.

Are you sure? I don't know any business that uses it.

Moreover, all e-mail programs are the same. They have an Inbox. That's filled automatically by incoming mail. And if you open such a mail (just click on it) they have a "Reply", "Reply to all" and "Forward" button. And the main window has a button to compose a new email, which in turn has a Send button to send the mail.

That's all you have to know to be able to use it quite well: read, reply, forward and send mails. If you can use one, you can use all in a business environment.
