Hello. I know I'm not the only person having this problem, but there has yet to be an answer (other than the people who had the settings wrong in their email program).
I bought a new laptop running Windows 7. I so miss my XP and Outlook Express! I never had a problem!
The problem is that when I send email it's a 50-50 chance that it will get to the recipient. It happens no matter which email program I've tried - Windows Live mail, TrulyMail, eM client, and Incredimail. I've checked my incoming & outgoing email settings. I can receive email with no problem, but I can't email anyone with an aol address, and all others are chancey. I can't even email a friend who has the same internet provider that I do. I've contacted my internet company and they had no explanation. They did say Roadrunner wouldn't work, but still had no answer as the the problem. I had the same company with my old computer & had no problem. I now have to use Gmail to be sure my email is rec'd. Anyone else have this problem since swithing from outlook Express & Windows XP?

I just tried sending an email to an aol address. I got this message and the email is still in the outbox-

The connection to the server has failed.Subject 'Thank you!'Server: 'mailhost.tvcconnect.net'Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0EProtocol: SMTPPort: 25Secure(SSL): NoSocket Error: 10013

That could be a great clue

Sorry for the delay.

That error message could give clues. I Googled "'Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0EProtocol: SMTP Port: 25Secure(SSL): NoSocket Error: 10013" and found a number of results, including the link below;

Have a read of that. It seems possible that your anti-virus email scanner may be at fault. I'm not convinced, (unless you are sending emails from a computer that is already infected with viruses), because I have never had problems with my AV scanning either incoming or outgoing emails.

But the reply there was that removing the AV worked. Note, don't remove, (uninstall), the AV, but disable it's email checking option, just to test.

Another thought in that link was that your SMTP settings were incorrect. You can check those from your email provider's web site. For example the link below shows were changing the port number for SMTP did work.

I forgot to add that the sent email that disappears doesn't show up in my sent items folder either. There is no error message saying there was a problem sending it or anything; it I click send and it looks like it's sent but then disappears. Could my Norton Internet Security (which came w/ the new computer) be preventing the emails from going anywhere?
