Outlook Express 6 Blinking Problem

Hi,
I have been using outlook express since a long time and have not faced any problem up-till now. But since sometime, I am experiencing a strange issue. When I open outlook, the folders located on the left side start blinking, even when I create a new message everything blinks. I have also installed AVG Internet Security latest security update and have scanned my pc many times but the problem still persists. Can anyone help me how to resolve this issue?

and a quick Google search for " Outlook Express flashing folders " shows no similar cases at all

So, I am in the dark here.

What has changed on this system since this started happening, any malware, any software installs or software uninstalls? Any Outlook Express Add-ins added?

Are these folders full? According to Microsoft Information about the maximum file size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express, that maximum is 2GB. Those flashing folders may indicate that the dbx files are now at their limit.
