Problem downloading Yahoo Messenger

A friend is having problems trying to download Yahoo Messenger. When it gets about half way through, a message pops up stating "download unsuccessful". This happens on both his home laptop and company laptop. Any suggestion as to what's wrong?

Head to http://messenger.yahoo.com/download/ and download it to a file. Put that file on some CD or USB stick for them.

I've downloaded it to a USB Flash Drive. I'll see what happens when my neighbor gets home from work.
