Outlook 2007 Problem on Windows 7

I get recurring error messages telling me that Outlook cannot open because of corrupt files. The fix is to run scanpst.exe but what I would like to know is why it keeps happening. I have to run the fix almost every other day.

Thanks for any input and/or suggestion for a more stable email program. One would think that Microsoft would have gotten it right after all these years.

Well, it's not a common occurrence you mentioned. So something is wrong with your PC, or you're doing something wrong. Alas, you don't provide any information that makes a good diagnosis possible.

So let me only mention 2 alternatives for a mail-client:

The current Microsoft alternatives is:
- free download of Windows Live Mail

A common open source alternative is:
- free download of Thunderbird

Create a new pst file

try creating a new pst file in addition to your faulty one then drag all your data down to the new one. Then you can move to the new one permenantly once your done and remove the old

Outlook is not supported on Windows 7.

In order to run Outlook or Outlook Express on Windows 7, you need to purchase the upgrade to Win 7 Proofessional. It allows you to install a virtual Windows XP mode that will run your legacy software. However, you will not be able to easly access all of your files, and any programs loaded under Win7 will have to reinstalled on the virtual drive.

It is S-L-O-W! I swithched from Outlook Express to Mozilla Thunderbird. It imported everything from my OE Files, including the folders, but no the criteria for sorting things into folders. You will have to set new filters for sending incoming mail to each folder, but it can be done.
