Outlook express sending multiple emails

My Outlook Express account is a mess. If I send a message, it stays in the "outbox" and never goes to the "sent" file, which means the message gets sent multiple times. Is there a free download that will cure this? If not, which paid download works the best???

Probably a corrupted Sent Items file. Delete it from My Computer and OE will create a nice new uncorrupted empty one when it runs again.
Copy or move every mail you want to keep out of it before deleting the file!

The file is Sent Items.dbx. Easy to find in your Documents and Settings, although the folder might be hidden until you unhide it. http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm tells where exactly to find it.
