Password protect Outlook? Or encrypt emails?

I'm looking for a way block all users except myself from viewing my email in Outlook 2003. I'm only concerned with people on my network getting in to my outlook and reading my emails. Is there any way to password protect any entrance to Outlook? Or is there any way to encrypt all emails that I send out without having to get the reciepient to use my same encryption software??
Any help is much appreciated

Plain text email is sent since it's a STANDARD. There is NO STANDARD for keeping the content secret in internet based email systems without some addon for both sender and recipient.

Do you want to discuss solutions or must you maintain the reciever never install a decrypter?

pst folder

You can password protect your pst folder so that the next time you open Outlook, it will ask for a password. If password is entered correctly, Outlook opens. If password is not entered or entered incorrectly, Outlook will not open.

WinXP: Start -> Control Panel -> Mail -> Data Files -> (select current personal folder) Settings -> Change Password

This should prevent prying eyes happy

During the email transmission that password is not used so the security is lost.

put the .pst file a private folder, and than it's as safe as your Windows logon password allows. Even other administrators won't be able to open it (unless of course they remove your password and logon as you).
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 tells how to do it.

This doesn't encrypt incoming and outgoing mail. That could be intercepted anywhere in the network and mail server.
