Hi Guys,

Im not sure if this is the right forum for my question, but I couldnt really find a better category and Im hoping to gather some insights from people before I fork out some cash.

Im setting up a hockey league and I want to use an email marketing program so I can send out snazzy messages to all the players notifying them of upcoming games, tournaments, etc.

Right now Im on a free trial for two programs: Elite Email Marketing and Constant Contact.

The Constant Contact program has been pretty good so far. Their service was a little slow (and being a quasi-newbie with email marketing I had a bunch of questions), but they have a nice assortment of templates and good features.

The other program, from Eliteweb, has just about all the same features, a few less default templates, but the support has been fantastic. They got back to me lightning quick and when I said I couldnt find a template that suited my needs, they built me one for free. Im inclined to go with them, but Im just wondering if anyone else has used their service. Is this level of support going to continue or does it drop-off after my free trial, like Ive seen in so many other places?

Or, does anyone have another program I should try out? Im open to trying anything!

The links were full of nothing but advertisements and more. To keep advertising off the boards, moderators can remove posts that have such links.

There is an almost "end run" around the no advertising ban but that involves using a shill. Fortunately we have a way to vote if we suspect a shill and will delete such posts after a few moderators weigh in on "shill or not."

Hope this explains it.

Some use simple methods such as mailing lists in an email program and Outlook Express since it can craft HTML content. It seems to work for many.

There are mailing list managers galore on the PC. I've never ran into anyone using the services you noted for the reason almost every one is just an email spammer or sells the addresses to spammers.

Hello Gentlemen,



I know you are busy discussing forum policies (of which I am a big fan!), but I figured Id drop a comment about Jasons original post.



Ive used Elite Email Marketing, Constant Contact, and tried Bronto. Of the three, Id recommend Elite Email Marketing. Dont get me wrong, all of them are very good programs, but, as you said, the service Eliteweb provides is just much better. And, just to alleviate your worries, Im past my free-trial and havent noticed a dip in customer care one bit.



As Bob said, you can, of course, just use a program like Outlook to send your messages. I prefer one of these services because for the price I pay, the emails look better, I get a subscription center (this lets people unsubscribe which helps ensure Im totally Can-Spam compliant), and a bunch of tracking tools.



The one thing Ill warn you about all these services, which Bob also mentioned, is not to use them for spamming. If you buy one of the get 50 million addresses for $9.99 type lists and try to use these programs, they will all catch you. (And the last thing we need is one more spammer!) But, if youre using it to help run your hockey league, then that shouldnt be a problem and I think youll be really happy.

Looking for Recommendations on Email Marketing Programs

Hello,

I'm jumping in on this thread 7 years after it was last posted, so I hope someone out there sees my new question! I'm a Mac user and am responsible for sending email newsletters for a couple of non-profit organizations. I'm looking for recommendations for an email marketing program that is very user friendly, provides nice-looking templates, and is inexpensive. I'd love to get input from fellow Mac users.

"email marketing programs for Mac" brings up hundreds of suggestions in Google.

MailChimp is one I have actually heard of.

I figure you are not watching this thread as you did not respond to either of the answers to your post.
