Problem sending email w/attachments using Outlook/Yahoo Mail

I use Outlook as my email client for both my Hotmail and Yahoo MailPlus aacounts. But I'm unable to send emails with attachments on my Yahoo acct, so I have to resort to do that through the website client. I can recieve attachments just fine, but when I attempt to send email with attachments (not large attachments--text files mostly), my "send/recieve" action times out and re-attempts over and over. Any thoughts?

Solution of sending attachments with Yahoo/Outlook Express

I had the problem of attachments getting divided into pieces when sending e-mail. That was my problem ... The solution is surprinsingly whithin the Outlook Express help:

Attachments->size limit:

To send large messages

Many e-mail and news servers limit the size of the messages you can receive and send. Usually this limit is one megabyte (1 MB) per message, including all attached files.

With Outlook Express, you can send large messages or files to e-mail and news servers that have size limits, by breaking the messages into smaller ones. When the group of messages is received, the e-mail program combines them into one message.

On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
On either the Mail or News tab, click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, select the Break apart messages larger than x KB check box and then enter the maximum file size the server will allow.

Yahoo Times Out Outlook Express Client Mail with Attachments

Yahoo has now set it's server to Time Out Outlook Express client email with attachments larger than 2MB when using their dial-up service. Smaller than 2MB attachments are OK, as is regular text or HTML email.
This is new and they are getting away with it.

It appears to be a master plan to force everyone sending larger attachments to use their Yahoo briefcase to email attachments or their Webmail service.

This is because both the webmail and briefcase use the FTP technology which is less expensive for Yahoo to maintain.

If Yahoo offered their 3 Mbps DSL services at comparable prices in all cities, everyone would subscribe to DSL. They don't and that is the RUB! They arbitrarily TIME YOU OUT with no client email solutions.

Your solution is to click HELP on your Yahoo email page and tell them that you are wise to their games and demand that they restore your ability to send attachments via Dial Up.

Do this today: Complain, Complain Again, and Keep on Complaining!
